Collage created from found vintage photographs and negatives discovered in an abandoned building in Louisville, KY, around 1999 during a family visit. The scanned materials were then digitally collaged almost ten years later, using words from my sketchbook.
I experiment with color, hue, saturation, and texture in my collages by rearranging the layering of elements and adjusting their opacity. Sometimes, I work with hundreds of layers to relinquish direct control as much as possible. This practice alters their meaning and introduces randomness to the compositions, allowing for less control in this digital work.
